He spends a considerable amount of time (over a billion years!) trying to break through a substance harder than Diamond (forgot the name, FFS lol) and when he finally does, he ends up on another world and lands next to an object, that is shortly later, as in one minute later, revealed to be his confession dial. When he finally checks his surroundings, he can see a city and discovers that he is now on Gallifrey.
